I won't dance.

My dadou (mothers father) used to play fantastic jazz when he was alive. He used to tour with Fats Waller - being at home this christmas I am more than fascinated by all these eccentric musicians and artists and egyption great uncles living these glorius lives as if a different era in Cairo, and the stories of those who did so in the affluent 20's & 30's... How wonderful! The glamour & theatricality... gosh, to have lived then. I am feasting on ginger rogers & fred astaire videos, a use of time I highly reccomend.

so many ways to go now.

Waiting for old friends at train stations in central london is delicous. Almost as delicous as the gigantic cakes & delightful tea & stories we shared amongst the hustle of londoners & parisians at St. Pancras.
I love these fresh light days, crisp with a lingering autumn cold. I am so content to be home in London.

Life is cabaret-gay.

Bourgeois & Maurice, bistroteque cabaret, tonight! At The Royal Academy. Having checked out the GSK contemporary arts exhibition at burlington gardens yesterday, I am overjoyed. Tonight, is the much hyped (and with excellent reason.) cabaret by Bourgeois & Maurice in a pop up bar within the Royal Academy's contemporary exhibition. An exhibition blurring the boundaries between art & theatre & performance... & generally wonderfully worth a visit! I have been meaning to check these guys modern cabaret out for months, with songs such as "don't go to art schooool." since a friend saw them in a little underground bar near waterloo & titled it one of the best things she has seen in london for years. I am most excited. I shall update with tales!

In the words of M-A-R-C.

"Thats what I think everyone should aspire to in life—being shameless.” Marc Jacob's words of wisdom.

So christmas eve is upon as & there is much to say for red wine and port at this family filled time of year, if you are prone to emotional outbursts, or outrageous comments or indeed dancing on the coffee table in your christmas hat - sherry fuelled - at this festive time of year, remember what our dear Marc has proclaimed, and worry not. My aim with this new blogette, is to document discoveries of fun within the cultural world, exciting happenings, parties, fashion, anything to bring colour into the days.
