EASTER SOON.

Late night (early morning) assignments, endless gauloise & n'espresso capsules

are leading to aching bones &

a desperation for returning to the City.

Lilia Yip revisited.

illustration: lilia yip

I first found out about Lilia Yip at Last summers RAC graduate fashion show. & fell for how she draped her models in pieces like landscapes, architecture, draped on slender frames - words are insufficient - browse away: Lilia Yip

A little window into our brief stop in Amsterdam.

I could not zoom in more, but this man was so fantastically dressed in such a simple, chic, central european 'hip-city' way.
& the shop was filled with quirky arty pieces & books, filled with a more 'artistic' take on the subject matter of such things as the red light district. There were so many fantastic shops like this!

There was an incredible little shop filled with different coloured bow ties - & just down the road a vintage boutique where I acquired the most incredible black jumpsuit. I think I shall bring it out in paris. I cannot wait.
There were so many little bookshops & vintage dress up boutiques around the nine streets area.
& of course darling little bicycles parked outside every one!

After a day of exploring we stopped for a delicous coffee in this lovely little cafe overlooking the canals.
(who knew the netherlands knew how to create such a masterful cup of coffee, every single time!)

Refreshed we continued to explore & stumbled across this little junk/antique/retro pieces shop. Incredible.
had we not been attempting to hitch part of the way home, I would have purchased so many things here.
(it was, suitably, owned by a fantastic chic gentleman. Owning a boutique... I must.)

I fell in love with this little crooked house alongside the canals.

I'll be laughing too before you know...

oh gosh everything scandinavian is so glorius.
I have stumbled across this little band, I love the album art work, I love the beats, the atmosphere, the delicously youthful feel, a hint of m83. mmm.
I have such fond memories of sweden. Two summers ago we spent a week exploring stockholm's cobbled streets, cutting edge design, fashion, art, little underground bohemian cafes, little junk shops off tiny forgotten streets. Were the krona not so unbearably high in exchange I would have hopped on a plane back there straight away since. For now I console myself with the unquestionable amount of talent which consistently comes out of scandinavia, which I can admire from afar. Return I shall, return I must.

twenty.

I am hooked on: 'The Darkest Light'
I cannot get it out of my head.
It is 2.58am, I have the biggest desire to make cupcakes
but have not a little cupcake tray.
mmm.

Bruges.

A few photos from a few weekends ago when we stopped breifly in Bruges on our hitch to Amsterdam from Zebrugge. The little cobbled streets of Bruges were positively enchanting & it inhabitants incomparably chic & sophisticated (yet, still willing to help students hitch to holland).
On our journey from Bruges to Gent we were driven by a fantastic couple who must have been in their early fourties, fantastically chic, who told us all about Gent & Antwerp as centres of culture, fashion & art. I cannot wait to be living in France, there is something so fantastic about the ease with which one feels connected to different cities in central europe.

A band from Leeds - The boy on the top right infact, i believe, works in the beautiful brotherton library. Nonetheless, any trivia aside, I am so glad I stumbled across their cd in crash, and made it to one of their shows at brudenell as it was utterly lovely. & this wednesday I hope to again, upstairs at the library pub.
So, now it is sunday, it has been a delightful weekend & next week brings with it - Paris!
I hope everyone has a wonderful sunday evening ♥

view from the bed.

I do so love hazy sundays.

draping black silhouettes with ciggarette pants & I am in love.
more bizzarelly I was browsing through the online boutique &
I stumbled across a best friend of my sisters doing the modelling for a few pieces.
A rather pleasant suprise & I just cannot wait until
I am in Paris, floating around in beautiful pieces & drinking all night in little cafes.

Maps for lost lovers...

L'Wren Scott. I want this more than words can relate.

City Slicker [slacker]

(the man - isn't he edible?!)
How 1920's theatre glamour chic is this?!

I never understood the office girl chic, properly, I think, until this morning I woke up to the coverage on Stephen Burrows new collection. I have never seen anything so 'city' & sexually empowering. This has bizzarely coincided with last weeks purchase of a beautiful blazer/suit jacket-esque piece - similar to the Elizabeth&James one I posted a few weeks back. There is no need for an office high flying job, in my opinion, these looks are a neccesity for an empowered female of the city. I am ever more excited for my return to paris on friday! I think I Shall return without a penny...but hopefully a few wadrobe updates to post about & fill these winter days as they thaw into the fresh begginings of spring.

Helmut Lang, Fall 09

photos: men.style.com

I've never liked anything diesel much before. I remember reading about their ideology and thinking it was fucking briliant, but then looking in their stores and searching online and being dissapointed, everytime. Nonetheless, with fashion week coverage all over the web, I have stumbled across Diesel Black Gold's lovely little ensemble on this rather dashing boy. I like.

crashing over the hillside.

incredibly
lovely to listen to.

Days & days & days & haze.

My camera broke, I've been in Amsterdam, snowed under with assignments & forgetting about this blog, which I promised I would keep updated NO-MATTER-WHAT. Nonetheless. Here I return & I have a found a new love for cuisine! Above is step 1 of my Valentines lebanese feast creation. I hope everyone has been great, It is grey & cold here, I am going to drink red wine, check on my grilled haloumi with roasted red peppers & get some reading done. The next few weeks this blog will get alot of loving from my end, I hit paris on the 27th february, so until then I will study & save my pennies. I cannot wait to be back, perusing le marais, drinking delicous coffee, dancing all night near monmatre...
